Each year M’akola’s team of property and project management professionals along with members of our Board of Directors from across BC anticipate the annual BCNPHA Conference in Richmond, BC.
“There were significantly more attendees there this year and the speakers were very motivational and captivating,” said M’akola Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Fox, a veteran of the BC Non-Profit Housing Association annual conference.
The conference offers training and networking opportunities and is a much anticipated event for our property management team.
“Each year I look forward to the opportunity to network and I value the time I get to spend with other providers who attend,” Fox said. “It’s a time to make connections, to discuss best practices and explore partnership potentials. I hope my staff found the networking possibilities as beneficial I do.”
This year M’akola increased its involvement at the conference as attendees to gold sponsorship. M’akola Development Services (MDS) sponsored the pre-conference day with Avi Friedman and showcased its services and teams to the Membership of BCNPHA at its first ever tradeshow booth. For the duration of the conference, Nov. 22-25, the team set up shop in the M’akola tradeshow booth. The M’akola team took turns at the booth promoting all the services M’akola has to offer, and attending the conference sessions for professional development and enrichment.
“I am thrilled with the sessions offered this year, they are invaluable for our team and I believe an invaluable resource to our changing sector. There is no other venue that hits all the points we want our team exposed to as the BCNPHA conference,” said Kevin Albers, M’akola CEO and BCPHNA Board Member. “There are sessions tailored for our staff working in all aspects of affordable housing spanning from development to property management. This conference reaches the vast scope that is M’akola.”
The property management team was amazed at the magnitude of session options, and they strategically selected courses to share information with each other after the conference.
“Many of the sessions were geared to Regional Property Managers, BCNPHA is hands down the best place for our staff to enhance their knowledge base,” said Fox.
M’akola is excited by the opportunities made available by the conference and has already begun discussing its presence at the 2016 BCNPHA Conference.
