We are proud to announce Hope Centre was recognized with a merit award at the 24th Annual Commercial Building Awards hosted by the Victoria Real Estate Board on November 10. Hope Centre was nominated in the Community/Institutional Category.
The building is located in Sooke’s downtown core and maximizes land use and density in its urban location. A highlight to the building is a 48-foot long mural commissioned by First Nations youth artists titled Coming Home.
The building includes 3,122sq. ft. of commercial space and 14,982 sq. ft. of residential space providing 25 affordable homes for singles and couples.
“Thank you. M’akola is the reason I am able to afford an apartment close to town and my gym… I only hope that others appreciate and take advantage of this crucial leg up. Now truly my future bodes well, thank you,” said Alex Patterson, Hope Centre resident.
The building was a partnership through M’akola Group of Societies and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island.
