It was standing room only at the Hope Centre Grand Opening, Dec. 17.
The celebration was started by a blessing by Elder Shirley Alphonse and T’Sou-ke Chief Gordon Planes and Beecher Bay Chief Russ Chipps.
Speakers at the event included M’akola Group of Societies CEO Kevin Albers, Angela Hudson, Executive Director of Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Vancouver Island; both are partners in the project.
Roger Butcher of BC Housing, Sooke Mayor Maja Tait and Nils Jensen Chair of CRD also spoke at the event.
Youth artists working on projects for Hope Centre were also recognized for their work and roles in the project.
