These past few years has created additional barriers and challenges to everyone, especially our clients who were most likely already facing systemic barriers and challenges before living in and through a global pandemic.
Thanks to our donors over the years, we have been able to gift many homes with a gift card to various grocery outlets and give some of our families a little bit extra at a time of need. Something they may not have had otherwise.
Our goal every year is to provide every M’akola home a gift at Christmas. We are confident we will reach this goal one year with donations like yours.
To make things easier for our donors, we are collecting donations through CanadaHelps.org and we will purchase gift cards with every donation we receive. We will continue to accept donations mailed directly to our head office with the donation made out to M’akola Housing Society.
All donations will receive a charitable tax receipt either from CanadaHelps or M’akola Housing Society depending on where you made your contribution.
In many Indigenous cultures, gifting is a way to show respect. Please consider donating to our M’akola Holiday Gift Program if you are able. Please let us know if you would like your donation to be given to a family within a certain city or housing project and we will ensure your wish is carried out. We accept donations all year long but if you would like your donation to go to a family in the current year we are in, you will need to make your donation by December 5th.
